TWiF Theme Song Showdown!

On Friday's episode of TWiF, Martin and I played (and danced to) our very first TWiF theme song submission. Gotta say, it was pretty rad. Today I received what I consider the first worthy challenger, totally different but also pretty rad. At this point, I think it's only fair to let you all choose who advances to the next round. TWiF is a democracy, after all. Or something like that.

CHAMP: TWiF by GabeMcG

CHALLENGER: TWiF by Stewart Peck

Post your favorite in the comments section. Winner takes all. Oh, and if you think you can beat both these songs, post a link to your effort in the comments section or email me.

Stewart Peck's song was way better, though i would like to see something more upbeat.

Oh, and the perfect TWiF song would mention poo as well.

I agree with Max, Stewart's song is way better than mine. Although I think mine makes a better theme ;)

P.S

I'm working on something extra special for this week's show Sarah!

I agree with GabeMcG, that his song does make for a better theme song then the one by Stewart. Even though the one by Stewart was well done, Gabes was more catchy which is what you want in a theme song, especially for a show with 'fun' in the title.

both are really good (well I guess)

Gabe's beats that one out. Mr. Pecks is just a little too calm for the show, it sound like it would be more appropriate for your credits (that is, if you had any)

I would have to go with TWiF by GabeMcG.

However since there is an intro song, what about an outro song as well? Even possibly TWiF by Stewart Peck's song for that? Maybe just tweaking the lyrics a little to make it in past tense since the show would be over. Just an idea though. Both were cool lol.

Gotta go with the consensus here. While Stewart Peck's was the more well-produced entry, GabeMcG's seems to fit in with the overall vibe of the show, and the image of the show you're looking to project. If I were making the call, I'd give it to GabeMcG.

GabeMcG, he doesn't sound like a frog.

February 23, 2009 | Unregistered Commentertim

Stewart Peck's is really relaxing! I like it best, although Gabe's is definitely more 'fun', hehe.

I also made one for you, please have a listen =) I didn't dare try singing like these guys, so I just tried something instrumental, cool and rocky...and hopefully fun!

I feel that GabeMcG song would be a perfect intro. However I really enjoyed Stewarts and feel it would great for closing/credits roll.

February 24, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterTim

I agree with others who suggested Gabe's song for the intro and Stewart's show for the outro during the credits. That would be perfect. And thank you for TWiF, its a great show.

Stewart peck I really like the style of his song so this is the song that I vote for.

I like Stewart's production and singing but there's something about Gabe's lyrics. Can we have Stewart produce and possibly sing Gabe's version?

February 24, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterJude

Gabe's is more "Fun". It is this week in Fun, It is not this week in fuddy-duddys.

February 24, 2009 | Unregistered Commenteraztekman

out of those two i like the 2nd one better. Its alot better singing and music. But i think a this week in fun song should be more upbeat and happy so i would like to see another song be the theme song

Sarah,
I just read about your divorce in a previous post an I was a bit surprised to hear the news. That must be really hard to go through and I wish you the best in finding a new husband. You are in your mid-30's now, so you'd better act quickly or it will be too late to have kids. I don't picture you as the type who will live alone and have 50 cats, though. My Sister waited too long to have kids and in her mid-30's found out that she could no longer bear children. It really bugged her and her husband left her over it. I don't wish that sort of disaster on anyone.

I think GabeMcG song is a horrendous train wreck of a song and he said himself he's not a musician and he is an awful singer(1,000,000XBetterThanMeOnMyBestDay)But it's the greatest intro to the show, well for a show like TwiF I mean it's not that good of a show(It’s This Week in Fun…This week was fun…This Week in Fun…)dang song. Now Stewart Peck is a great song I already have it on mp3 player I think it's horrendous train wreck as the intro, but as in Fun there are highs and there are lows and as happy as we are to see TwiF come ;-) we are very sad to see TwiF go :'-( and think his song would make a great ending.

P.s sorry about some of the things I just said I drink a little just kidding I DRINK A LOT. More Tweat beat more interaction with the chat rooms

TWiF by Stewart Peck...
This song is actually good.

February 26, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterSchwegler

I think Stewart's song would be an excellent closing song. I really like how it works against the "fun" idea.

February 26, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterDanLueders

Easy, GabeMcG!

Stewart's song is more polished and more "musical"....but this is TWIF we're talking about, irreverence should be a pre-requisite.

Plus, it just puts me in a better TWIF frame of mind.

February 26, 2009 | Unregistered Commentercr

Both are good in their own way. But please consider this one too.

@Paulywood, wow, you sir are a rockstar

I made a Tweet Beat theme to, did you hear it? http://gabemcg.com

Definetly put paulywood in the running Sarah!

February 27, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterGabeMcG

I'm not a fan of the whole "John Mayer" sound, but I definitely liked it more than the ear bleeding first song (despite comedic appeal).

Stewart Peck - Outro
Paulywood - Intro & Tweetbeat
